It’s astonishing that it can take one scenario to change your path forever. What I had envisioned and desired for my entire life, God had other plans. I was used to living in a shadow that I might have casted upon myself. Growing up and attending public school, my older sister of three years graduated as the valedictorian and a literal poster child. She was the book brains that I compared myself to and felt like I had to live up to, knowing that I never could. Books were a challenge for me because I am mildly dyslexic. For the longest time, I allowed the shadow to underestimate myself.
